Our House Games will be hosting a prerelease tournament for the Pokemon Mega Evolution expansion! Players will be provided with a Build & Battle kit containing four Mega Evolution booster packs, as well as one semi-random evolution pack including one of four promos. Players will be allotted 30 minutes to open their packs and construct a 40-card deck using only the contents of their kits (basic energies will be provided by the venue). Then players will battle in a Swiss-style tournament in best-of-one, 30-minute rounds; the number of rounds will vary according to player count. At the end, each player will receive 3 additional packs of the new set, and there will be additional prize payout for top placement to be determined the day of the event. Come play at Our House! Event entry is $40 and is limited to 20 players. Players will need a Pokemon Player ID to participate; players who do not have one can be provided one at the venue. This event requires moderate reading capabilities and is not recommended for those who are unfamiliar with how to play the game, but is a great, casual introduction to tournament play and deckbuilding.
